Committees

Between Town Council meetings, Councillors work in committees.

The duties and delegated powers of each Committee are defined and agreed by the Full Council and detailed in the Scheme of Delegation.

Town Council

All members of the Council meet monthly for a Full Council meeting which approves the decisions of standing committees and discusses any other matters of relevance. District and County Council representatives also attend these monthly meetings to update Town Councillors on matters relevant to the town and to hear any concerns raised pertaining to district or county matters.

Facilities

The Facilities Committee is responsible for maintaining and developing all Council owned properties and amenities. Particular responsibilities include the Pump Rooms, the Regal, the Burgage, Palmers Meadow and the Cemetery. As with all Town Council Committees, the meetings of the Faciities Committee are open to the public. Members of the public are always very welcome to attend.

Planning

The Town Council has the opportunity to comment on all planning applications in the Town. The final decision on planning applications is made by Malvern Hills District Council but the Town Council does provide an important route for challenging applications. As with all Town Council Committees the Planning Committee meeting is open to the public and members of the public are very welcome to attend. The following Town Councillors are on the Planning Committee.

Finance & Staffing

The Finance and Staffing Committee is not only responsible for setting and managing the budget for the Town, but also for making financial decisions and dealing with staffing matters. As with all Town Council Committees the meetings of Finance and Staffing Committee are open to the public. Members of the public are very welcome to attend.
